Twitter Scam Redux – The Shortening

News, from Mashable! of another Twitter based malware scam, this time embedded in the trending topics functionality of the micro-blogging site. This issue is a further indicator of the need for extreme caution when dealing with URL shortening (at least from unknown users). More information including a short snippet of the original post, and linkage, appears after the jump. Remember, be very careful with shortened URLs from untrusted sources.
