In astonishing news from last week, Mike Arrington founder and co-editor of TechCrunch reports his account (and most likely many other celebrity accounts) managed to garner the ‘coveted’ Twitter Verified Badge. Apparently Twitters much vaunted verification program (of which, we initially applauded) has run off the tracks (as it were). Reports indicate no verification is actually accomplished. Ooop. That’s telling them Twitter!
